During lockdown, we were unable to have our traditional “transition days” where children would move up to the next class for the morning to meet their new teachers and teaching assistants, get to know the layout of the room and introduce themselves. This helps towards allaying any trepidation or answer any questions they may have. The staff at St James’ produced videos and wrote a bit about the new classroom and what the children could expect.
