I joined St James’ Catholic Primary School as Year 1 class teacher in 2013 bringing 3 years experience of teaching Key Stage 2 with me. I find St James’ a wonderful community to be a member of and I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of its recent development. I have been Science Coordinator since 2014, a role I enjoy as I have a background in science, completing a degree in Biomedical Science before training to be a teacher. I became Special Educational Needs Coordinator along with Mrs Kinder in 2016, and PSHE Coordinator along with Mr Woolley in 2018. I am currently Key Stage 1 lead and Year 2 Class teacher. In my spare time I enjoying spending time in the outdoors, walking and cycling, and enjoy traveling to other countries when I can. Miss Chapman.
I have worked at St James’ since September 2011. I was first employed as class teacher in a mixed Year 1/2 class then becoming a straight Year 1 class after two years. I then had my little girl in 2014 and when I returned from maternity leave I joined the Early Years team and became the Nursery teacher and also took on a new role of Numbers Count teacher. So I teach Nursery in the morning and worked with children one to one doing Numbers Count 3 afternoons a week. Numbers Count is a bespoke maths intervention for children from year 2 upwards. In the last 2 years I have taught Year 1 again and I am currently teaching Nursery in the mornings and Year 5 for 4 afternoons. I am also the Art and DT coordinator (working with Mrs Collins and Mrs Hogan). Mrs Rutter.
Hello I’m Mrs Malone,
I was employed as a Nursery Nurse 10 years ago to work at St James nursery and reception class. Since having my two boys Jack 7yrs and Ewan 4 yrs old I have been working part time.
We now run as a unit. So even though I’m based in the Reception class I also get to interact, observe and work alongside both reception and nursery children. Which I absolutely love!
Im also a qualified pediatric first aider. I went to college straight after leaving school to train as a nursery nurse. I have a CCE (Child care education) certificate and the NNEB Diploma. This took me 3 years.
I have therefore been working in schools for the last 18 years or so! Wow that has gone fast!
I love my job and especially love being part of the St James family.
