Introducing our Staff 6

I joined in March 2016 as Kitchen Supervisor after the new kitchen was built. I have loved my time at St James’. It is a great place to work. Mrs Wain

I have been the PE Coach at St James’ since 2013 and have been doing their PE lessons on a Tuesday. Doing all sports from Volleyball to Rounders, we love to enter as many competitions that we can and we have made it to the finals in some of these. In my free time I love to meet up with friends and go out to eat and enjoy walking. Terri

I have coached football over many years; running school teams, managing Tameside Borough Schools’ Representative teams and working at the Oldham Athletic School of Football Excellence. In addition to this I have played and coached in senior football at home and abroad. I was very pleased to accept the invitation to coach football at St. James’ several years ago. Running the school football teams is a most enjoyable and rewarding experience. We work very hard together to improve and be the best we can be. Whilst striving  to do well in competition with other schools, it is very important for pupils at St. James’ to develop self discipline and respect for those around them. We also see football as a way of promoting healthy life styles, physical skills and a love and understanding of the game through enjoyment and achievement. Come on St. James’ !!! Mr Partridge

I work for Tameside Music Service as the Lead Brass Tutor which involves me going into schools teaching music to hundreds of pupils a week with a focus on learning to play a brass instrument.  I have been teaching brass at St. James since I started working at the music service in 2009.  I am lucky that I get to spend a whole day at St. James on Fridays when I go from class to class teaching music; with mainly singing in KS1 and brass playing in KS2.  From Year 3 onwards, everybody gets an opportunity to play a brass instrument and will continue learning until they leave school in Year 6.  But it doesn’t end there because I hope some pupils will choose to continue learning to play brass in secondary school and continue to enjoy making music.
