Lent

LentLent is the season of 40 days that leads up to the great feast of Easter. It starts on Ash Wednesday and culminates in the events of Holy Week. The date of Easter changes each year as it dependent on the moon’s cycle and is related to the Jewish feast of Passover. Lent is time to reflect on our lives and make changes. We are encouraged to give up bad habits or to do something extra.

Lent always starts with our Ash Wednesday service in the school hall. During Lent we think about 3 important words… PrayFast… and Share. We have a Lenten Share Day when we raise money for CAFOD. We also add our CAFOD boxes to the parish collection. Fr Philip always makes a special trip over for a Service of Reconciliation during Lent.
