Over the school year each class will get the chance to experience forest school. Forest school activities take place within the school ground. The children work together and in small groups with a Forest School Leader and their teacher and teaching assistant. They cover a range of outdoor skills including art and outdoor education activities. All of the activities have been fully risk assessed and will be delivered by the appropriate member of staff.
When it is your child’s turn for Forest School they will need a set of “forest clothes” (tracksuit bottoms or leggings, a t shirt, jumper and a waterproof coat) with wellies, boots or old trainers. Plenty of layers to keep them warm. These clothes will get wet and dirty and may even get ripped so please don’t buy anything new!
Children may come to school in their forest school clothes and school shoes, bringing their boots or wellies to change into for their session.
“What I like about Forest School is that you get to experience true nature and what God created before mankind started to destroy the world.” – Kaydon, Year 5
