We have had a super start the the Summer term. We are really enjoying our new Pathways To Write text, The Last Wolf by Mini Grey and are nearly ready to write our persuasive letters to encourage everyone to plant more trees! We are working hard in maths to learn to multiply and divide, as well as understand fractions. We are becoming very fluent readers through our daily phonics practise, and are really enjoying learning about how humans grow and change in science. Our working scientifically skills are really developing, and we are getting better at asking questions and planning investigations to test our theories, such as, ‘Do older people have bigger hands?’
This half term we are learning more about the season of Easter in RE. We will learn how Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to the disciples by the shore, and think hard about how the disciples would have felt. We will understand more about the Ascension, when Jesus ascended into Heaven and promised to return again and that this gives us hope. We will learn how the Holy Spirit is promised to us, are use art work to explore this.
In Year 2 we really enjoy our Prayer Time, and are becoming more and more independent planning the sessions for our class.
It is also our turn for Forest Schools and we are loving learning to work together and develop new skills in our outdoor environment! Mrs Malone puts pictures of the school Facebook page every week so take a look!
