At St James’ we always strive to provide quality experiences of Prayer and Liturgy that support our pupils’ spiritual development. These communal acts of prayer and the liturgical celebrations of the Church form part of everyday life in our school.
We encourage the children to nurture a relationship with God through words, symbols, song, gestures and silence. When planning and delivering our Prayer and Liturgy sessions, the children focus on four specific areas – “Gather”, “The Word”, “Response to the Word” and ending with “Mission (Go Forth)”.
Throughout this year we are going to be working in small groups, with adult support, to plan and lead Prayer and Liturgy sessions with the rest of our class each week. We will be thinking about different ways in which God helps and guides us through our lives and sharing these with each other.
