Headteacher's Welcome

A warm welcome to the community that is St James’ Catholic Primary School, Hattersley. Thank you for your interest in our school and we are glad that you have found our school website.

Our school is part of the Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust and belongs to the parish of St James, the Great,  which is within the Diocese of Shrewsbury. Our Local Authority is Tameside MBC and we work closely with the trust, the diocese and the local authority. 

All children are welcome at our school. Most parents choose us because we are a small, friendly school with a strong Christian ethos and a family atmosphere. We have an excellent reputation in the local area for having well behaved and hardworking children who are particularly good at music and sport. We strive to provide the very best education for all our pupils. 

As a school we are delighted to be recognised by Early Excellence as a Host School for 2025/26, to host events and share good practice in our area. Early Excellence is a highly regarded organisation that promotes inspirational learning across EYFS and Key Stage One.
